Barnes & Noble Book Club: Every Book Pick
Barnes & Noble launched its national Book Club on March 5, 2018, with free in-store Book Club nights at its then-632 U.S. locations led by expert booksellers, naming The Female Persuasion by Meg Wolitzer as its inaugural pick that May. The club has run a new selection almost every month since (no pick in December), chosen by B&N's own booksellers and editors rather than a single celebrity host, with picks leaning toward literary and upmarket contemporary fiction. Each selection gets a dedicated in-store display and a free author livestream or in-conversation event; several picks, including Buckeye by Patrick Ryan, have gone on to be finalists for Barnes & Noble's own Book of the Year award.
