South Dakota's Children's Book Awards are three student-choice awards run by the South Dakota Library Association with the South Dakota State Library: the Prairie Bud (PreK-grade 1), the Prairie Bloom (grades 2-3) and the Prairie Pasque (grades 4-5). A committee of South Dakota educators and librarians nominates ten titles per award each year; students read from the masterlists, give each book a star rating, and the highest-rated titles win. This list is the SDLA's 2024-2025 nominations, the most recent official masterlist published as a document.
